Located on the dramatic
eastern coast of Maui where tranquility is a way of life, the
newly opened intimate Spa Hotel Hana-Maui, (February 2004) offers
a relaxing sanctuary for hotel guests enhanced by Hana’s
incredible tropical beauty. This 7,650-square-foot spa is located
on an acre of landscaped grounds takes full advantage of the stunning
landscape and views of Hana Bay and Ka‘uiki Hill while accentuating
the belief that true balance and health come from gifts of the
earth and elements of nature.
Guests enter
the low-rise bungalow-style building and are greeted by the soothing
sounds of a waterfall wall. Here you will begin to experience this
one-of-a-kind spa that brings the indoor and outdoor experience
together and exudes intimacy with nature and embodies the Hotel’s
authentic Hawaiian experience.
The men’s
and women’s locker rooms have bamboo floors, mahogany lockers,
and showers with earth tone travertine tiles inlaid with ili‘lli
stones. To begin the relaxation ritual, guests can step outside
to enter the steam room, followed by a dip in the cold plunge pool.
While waiting for treatments, the relaxation room offers complimentary
herbal teas, and fresh fruit.
There are
nine treatments rooms including five massage suites averaging 500
square feet, four with private bath and garden patios. Two are dedicated
for couple massages. Each suite has a sitting area where therapists
personalize treatments with guests and to insure that guests expectations
are met. Guests are offered a special tonic drink to maximize the
benefits of the treatments. Additionally, there are two facial rooms
and two wet rooms.
The new
spa offers the ultimate in spa nurturing with water therapy treatments
in the specially designed Watsu pool with body temperature water.
Here guest and therapist become one as the therapist glides you
effortlessly through the water, stretching, breathing, and floating
freely.
